"Named for the Civil War-era folk heroine Barbara Frietchie, this pieced star block is part of a well-loved family of named Civil War quilt blocks kept alive by historians like Barbara Brackman. Stitched in dusty antique mauve and violet, it's one of the richest colourways in this whole collection.
